A brilliant Speedlite, the best Canon has made, and I think the best currently on the market. I have three, and if I had the budget, Id buy three more tomorrow. Combined with the ST-E3-RT transmitter, setting up complex lighting arrangements is a snap, and all easily controlled right from the back of the camera. (Background for frame of reference - I moved up from 580EX II and 430EX II Speedlites, and have never used the original 600EX.) The Speedlite is very well built, weather sealed, and powerful. Throw in a set of eneloop batteries, and it recycles very fast. Since getting my current set of Speedlites and transmitter, my strobes have yet to leave the studio, and have sat quietly more and more frequently in studio. The freedom, and the creativity that allows, granted by the Speedlites makes using them so much more enjoyable. You can find much cheaper flashes to be sure, but its hard to go wrong with the Canons for quality, reliability, and integration with the EOS system.
