Samsung UBD-M9500/ZA 4K UHD Blu-Ray Player

I got this item as a birthday gift, as it has all the bells and whistles that I need in a 4K Blu Ray player. Sadly, the thing did not perform well. Others here have reported on the loud motor and the violent clicking noise when playing Blu Ray discs that make it impossible to comfortably watch a movie, and these problems were present in the unit I received. Added to these problems, the front panel eject button quit working after 2 weeks, and the unit is so light weight that it skids across the table whenever I tried try to switch it on or off. Given its relatively high price, there is definitely NO value for money here. I suggest poor design, bad build standards, lack of quality control and cheap components. What happened to you, Samsung? Fortunately, Amazon allowed me to return this piece of junk even though I was a tad over the return window.

Hook up was a breeze, what I really like about this player besides the amazing picture, is the response time. Whenever I pause a movie and walk away from it for to long of a time and press play, it immediately starts playing again. I didnt have that with my older Blue Ray player. It was a hassle going back to playing mode, I dont know why. The menu features are also better.

I bought the Samsung M9500 and it is Amazing! The $300 price tag is a little steep, but you get what you pay for!! This 4K player looks amazing on my Samsung 55 inch Curved TV!! I would recommend this to anyone that is looking for a High Quality 4K player!!

I liked everything about this player except the very loud spinning noise when playing a 4K disc. It was so loud that I had to increase the volume on the TV to hide the noise. I could still hear it. This alone made this 4K player a very disappointing purchase. I read reviews on the K8500 having this issue but I thought Samsung would have surely fixed such an issue occurring on this newer model. Not the case. I would avoid buying this model. The noise cancels out all the other nice features.

I had to send back my original unit due to it not pumping audio to my receiver via the ARC HDMI port (yes, ARC was turned on). Replacement unit worked fine, but whenever I use a streaming app like Netflix, Amazon Prime, or Pandora, for a prolonged amount of time (hour or so), the loading will freeze and require the app be closed and restarted. It works fine for another hour or so. All apps work just fine on my tv (also a Samsung), laptop, computer, ipad etc. Also, this device does NOT HAVE HBO GO or ANY HBO app! The device is also a bit slower in terms of user input response time. I hope an update will solve these issues, but apparently samsung has a horrible track record for updates.

The Samsung Curve and the Samsung UBD-M9500/ZA is the best UHD Tv and 4K player thats out these days, picture quality is perfect, the sound is amazing specially with my 4K 7.2 ONYKO Surround Sound system with the RTI Polk Audio Set you cant go wrong.

This unit works great. No problems at 2 months. Remote works well. Optimizes picture well with my 1080p Samsung smart tv. Picture and colors with BluRay discs is amazing and a great upgrade from my 1st generation BluRay player.

Works like it should. We have a Samsung 4K TV so this player switches source when turned on as my previous Samsung player did but also switches back to the TV when turning the player off.

I really only purchased this device because streaming apps on my older Samsung BD-F7500 would consistently drop connections. This device streams smooth with the same internet connection. The colors are more vibrant also. Not to mention this player comes with the best in hand feeling remote in my experience.
