Samsung BD-JM59 Upgraded Wi-Fi Multi Region Zone Blu Ray DVD Player - PAL/NTSC

Keep having to unplug the unit once it is turned off in order to be able to power it up, again. Not really convenient. Have not been able to find any solution to the problem. I would not purchase this unit, again. Unit ended up failing. Samsung refuses to repair the unit insisting that the unit is out of warranty...despite assurances from Samsung Customer Support that since the unit was purchased new on February 11, 2019, that the warranty is good until February 13, 2020. Unit received was actually a BD-J5900/ZA, which is a newer model. I would not purchase this unit, again. I did purchase a Sony unit, which has similar features, and it is working nicely.

Plays my blue ray and dvds and produces clear images. Setup was a breeze. Only complaint is there is no on off light indicator but is a minor thing.

Very happy with the unit-I can confirm the picture quality is great on Blu-ray as well as region 1 & 2 DVDs. Customer service is also good; I initially had an issue, but they responded quickly and traced the problem to a dodgy HDMI cable (mine, not the one shipped). They also include a handy troubleshooting FAQ insert with the unit. Highly recommended.

being able to buy region-free players is great since many of the discs I like to watch are from Europe/Region 2, which used to be a dealbreaker but now we can buy region-free players. im partial to Samsung as being a good value so I used to have a Samsung USA-region player, and I liked it a lot for its ease and small size. this region-free one is just like the other one, just as small and easy to use, but plays all discs, which is great!!!! would give more stars if I could,im still a big Samsung fan.

While I have only used this player a few times,I am pleased with its features. Wi-fi apps are quicker than my "old" Smart TV. Multi-region works as described;load a disc and the player does the rest. I hope to add to this review later...

I upgraded from another Samsung player solely "region free" feature. However, I cannot get mine to work. Ive followed all the instructions to turn it off without a disk, wait 5 seconds, and press 1. When I do that it does not automatically turn back on, and when I power on manually it still does not read the disks. And the quick start feature is turned to off. I give up.

Works as advertised. Menu is a bit more difficult than it should be but you eventually get the hang of it. After several months of using this player I tried to play a French PAL DVD. It would not play. So it is not Multi region despite what they advertise. Still a great player but not multi-region.

Works great...I always wanted a region free Blu-Ray, because I watch a lot of UK programming...now I can order DVDs and Blu-Rays directly from Amazon UK...Same great service and prices. If you watch a lot of hard to find foreign movies and TV shows, this might be the player for you!

Wireless configuration was easy even when my home network implemented WPA2. It did play Region 2 DVD I purchased from amazons uk site. But I did not notice any issue with picture (actually pretty good) or sound (I used HDMI, direct export). I will circle back once I test 3d and zone 2 blu ray. Online firmware update did not work (server not found). I will try again before contacting seller. Apps are kind of lacking. Id love to have amazon and mlb that my LG has. Be aware, the one amazon is selling might not be multi-zone / region free. I purchased it from Global electronics.

BEWARE! I specifically purchased this because of the region-free capability. What I received was a Region 1 player with region-free stickers all over it. It didnt play any DVDs or Blu Ray discs from regions B or 2. Im returning the player. Absolute disappointment and waste of time.
