HP LaserJet Pro M254dw Wireless Color Laser Printer, Amazon Dash Replenishment ready (T6B60A)

I bought this to replace a slightly older HP Color Laserjet which did not support Google Cloud Print. My daughter uses a Chromebook for school so that was a necessity. Granted, I am "networking guy," but I scratch my head when I see all the negative comments citing issues with network connectivity on this printer. I have a very basic home network; an internet router and dual band wireless on the same SSID. I am however using higher end wireless access points than the one built into my (ISP provided) router. It connected to my WiFi the first time and since that time (2 months ago) it has never failed. I was planning to add an ethernet drop to the room where the printer sits, but it hasnt been necessary. Im using Windows 10 on my work PC and it works great with this printer. I did NOT install the HP software - just added the printer through the Settings pane. Super easy and zero issues. Also, the prints come out fine especially given the price. Duplex works flawlessly. No complaints.

I bought this to print out icons and resources for my classroom because my school does not provide color printing. I was very pleased with this purchase until about a month in...every day I would try to print and I would get a paper jam. Then randomly, during the printing of a 50+ page workbook with full color pages...the printer decided to restart printing halfway through and only print the first 15 pages...about 6 times. So now my workbooks are not printed...half my paper is gone to paper jams or random useless copies, and I am out of ink. Worst. Printer. Ever.

It is small and compact. I can carry it. I It does a really great job of printing/ and does it fast. I have had very few jams. On the other hand, HP charges a lot for the cartridges and makes it difficult to use third party cartridges. You have to go through a rigmarole to do so. In addition, I suspect it will only allow you to print so much with cartridges and then it demands new cartridges be installed. I think I will stick with this printer, as things stand; but I am wary of buying another HP printer.

Fast easy setup. Wireless network setup, HP eprint & google cloud print setup in about 5 minutes. I havent printed any photos yet but what I have printed looks great. Two sided printing. At this point I havent used Windows or Mac just my Chromebook and Pixel XL to print with. No regrets.

clear text, photo is not bad either, for a laser printer. quick warm up (for a color laser printer). compact. color makes it blend into the white-walled home office so its unobtrusive too. Love it. Great value. starter toners can print up to about 700 pages, and since we dont print color that much (we have a separate monochrome for daily high-volume printing) that will last us a while before having to buy the standard ones

Came out good for a first try. Gonna see how it goes on transfer paper. Fast set up. Even more excited it worked wireless without a problem. The hp smart app found my printer, I didnt have to enter not one thing like the serial number & ip address manually.

This is our second HP printer. Our first one stopped working in under a year with very minimal use. This one wouldnt work from the very start! I tried calling HP customer support and received the absolute WORST customer service ever! The customer support tech could barely speak english and was very rude. I literally couldnt understand him so I asked to speak to a manager. He wouldnt transfer me. He then told me that he would have to transfer me to technical support, but needed a credit card number first because they were going to have to charge me to fix a printer I literally just purchased! We will NEVER buy HP again and I will be shorting their stock. Horrible products and even worse customer support.

We run a business out of our house, and after years of suffering with uninspired printers of questionable quality I was blown away by this very affordable color laser printer from HP. The print quality is great, for both B&W and color. It was quite easy to add the printer to my home network over wi-fi, and it connects seamlessly to my PC and Apple computers. An added bonus is the email auto-print and the ability to easily print from our iphones. I signed up for the dash replenishment service, and like not having to worry about ink.

Cannot select the Best quality on mac sierra 10.13.6 August 2018. In the HP support forum nobody says anything other than reinstalling the drivers. There are many people with the same question, and all the official answers are equal of inefficiency. Be careful if you want a full mac printer, Im not a windows user to try it. I feel cheated with this printer and HP

I have been a longtime HP printer fan. After 15 years of faithful service, my last printer (HP 3500) was finally giving up the ghost so I looked for another model to replace it. The HP 254dw offered wireless duplex printing so I thought this would be a great replacement. Unfortunately, I was wrong. This printer has had problems from the beginning. The wireless connection frequently requires resetting, so much so that I gave up and reconnected this directly via USB to my Apple Airport Extreme. This was after several calls to HP tech support, who try mightily to find some way not to have to replace the unit. What a change from the old days when HP took responsibility for any problems and had great U.S.-based techs. The problems didnt end though even with the direct connection. I still periodically have to reset the printer when it hangs up on a document. If I ever buy another printer from HP, it will have to be an office duty model and not a consumer-grade one. These cheapo models just dont stand the test of time and are very unreliable.
