HP 23.8-inch FHD Monitor with Built-in Audio (24ea, White)

I dont know if I received a defective product or its the way it is, but mine had a terrible backlight bleed, the worst Ive seen in any monitor in my life. When the monitor was on in the dark, the screen was basically several patches of light coming off the edges - as opposed to an even and uniform illumination. When used in a lighted room, this monitor would reproduce pitch black colors as dark grey at best, maybe even light grey. I need to mention that I ordered this in winter and the package had spent some time in the cold. I dont know if it would cause something like that. I had to return this monitor immediately. Props to amazon for the full same-day refund. I went with Samsung and Im really happy with it. In my office, I also have a Dell monitor, which is amazingly sharp and vibrant (at the same resolution), but it has a very glossy screen. I was specifically looking for a matte screen for home due to the positioning of the windows in my house.

I played around with the contrast, sharpness and other settings on the monitor and on my laptop for three hours to make this monitor work with my Macbook Pro. No matter what I did, the text always appeared blurry and gave me an instant headache. The preset settings for text are also atrocious. I need to read many hours each day and am returning this product. This product gets two stars; however, because the image quality was great and videos were crisp.

monitor is great. text isnt the best but thats due to 1080p as max resolution. to get better resolution Id have to pay WAY more so I can deal with it since its not heavy work related. I do like that I can put two docs/browsers side by side to easily compare things with plenty of view. wide viewing angle is good. movies and such look fine. I dont do games so not comment there. overall for the price I paid Im happy with it.

I bought this monitor mainly because of its small physical dimensions. If it werent for the size limitations of my desk, I would have got a 4k display or gaming monitor. Pros: - Thin monitor, looks sleek - Screen resolution and quality was a bit better than I expected (comparing to normal Dell Desktop monitor you would probably use at work). - For the price, Id say its worth it. Cons: - Screen will often flicker when watching online videos. If youre planning to use this monitor for office, simple web browsing, viewing pictures, etc. this would be a good monitor. For entertainment purposes, not really.

I had some issues with making this order happen because customer service wasn’t very nice to me but I am very happy with the monitor itself. Easy to hook up to my laptop (and it comes with an HDMI cable so I didn’t have to buy an extra), clear picture, larger than expected, and practical for me to use. I like to pair it with my laptop because it’s much easier for me to keep multiple tabs open, etc. I also don’t have a TV in my house (shocking, I know) so I use this in conjunction with my laptop to make the screen bigger for streaming video. It does not have its own speakers so you’ll have to rely on your laptop for that but the pictures itself are really strong. I also like that it has such a sleek look to it. Definitely appears much more expensive than it actually is.

Beautiful picture, and easy to set up. However, I purchased two of these, and they both have the same problem. When the screen wakes up from the screen saver, it has an unsightly purplish tint. The only way I have found to get rid of it is to unplug the monitor and plug it back in, which is very annoying. The monitors are being used as dual screens, and the hassle totally negates the convenience of having a second monitor. I do not recommend this product.

Works great....when it decides to work. Ive had this monitor for 4 months and in that time it has stopped working 3 times. It always has to do with the HDMI inputs. It displays a "monitor input signal not found" message that blinks on and off every 10 seconds. When the message disappears, it doesnt give you any control over the bottom buttons--so you cant switch to other ports or change the monitor settings. It just goes completely black. The first time, I thought it was the cable so I replaced it. Before the second cable arrived, it randomly started working again. A few weeks later it stopped working again. I switched out the cables, still didnt work. Plugged it into a different computer in a different port, didnt work. Replugged it back into the original computer in the same port and it started working again. Third time it disconnected was after my computer went to sleep. Even though the monitor is on auto-sleep, the monitor going to sleep message reappears over and over until you manually shut the monitor off. So in reality, it only "sleeps" for 10 second intervals before it wakes back up to remind you theres no signal and its going to sleep. When I woke my computer up, there was no signal. Messed around with it for an hour and still didnt work. Eventually it started working again. If you have time to fiddle with your monitor for hours and have nothing better to do, buy this monitor. If you just want something that works--spend your money on something else.

I bought this monitor about 8 months ago and initially had no complaints. I have used it with both Windows and Mac computers and the image quality has been acceptable for both. However, after about six months, the power and menu buttons on the bottom of the monitor have ceased to function. In order to power the monitor off I have to unplug it, and the menu options are now appearing erratically in the bottom right-hand corner of my screen. I recommend spending the extra 40 or 50 dollars to purchase a better quality screen.

Nice, bright, crisp display with a lot of customizable features available, if you want more control. If youre not into all that, just plug it in and use the default configuration. The edge-to-edge display (on 3 sides) is a very nice aesthetic feature. The only thing I can say on the downside is that the quality of the sound from the built-in speakers is disappointing, But I have a separate speaker system, so its OK. I would recommend this monitor based on its visual quality, but also recommend separate speakers.

At first, I loved it - the slim profile, high tech look that displayed graphics from my pc very nicely. After about 5 months, it started acting up. The on screen menu would come on all by itself, and you could close it but it immediately returned. Found numerous similar complaints online and apparently replacing the control module would fix it. After not using it for a couple months, I tried it again and the menu probably seemed to gone away magically. Until about a week later and it returned. Additionally, for no reason the display would suddenly present a double image vertically, but still single horizontally. As if the vertical rate had switched to 120Hz with a 60Hz input. This condition would come at go at will, about every 2-3 minutes. Pulling the HDMI cable and re-inserting it would cause the monitor to re-lock correctly, and then 2 mins later right back to unusable. So, unfortunately its time to ditch this HP27er and go shopping for something more reliable. It wont say HP on it..
