Im not a gamer, Im a professional adult who mainly uses lightweight programs like Chrome, MS Word, and MS Excel, but I also occasionally shoot and edit marketing videos. Like anyone else, I also watch my fair share of YouTube and Netflix on my computer. I spent *days* researching different computers and even looking at various builds in mini towers. I finally settled on this Dell, and Im very happy with it. The bad news is that the machine is relatively large and heavy, and it features pretty angular and sharp edges on the corners. It also runs relatively warm and has a pretty loud fan. The screen is very good, but not excellent. I plug out to an external monitor with the HDMI port to take better advantage of the graphics capabilities. The good news is that the machine is a heck of a value, blazing fast, and comes with both an SSD for fast booting, but also a standard HD for storing things like videos and photos. The machine also came with minimal bloatware and Ive had no problems with any of the hardware. The illuminated red keys are pretty stealth looking (they remind me of Knight Rider), but the highlighted directional arrows for four of the letters looks pretty lame (I know they are there for gamers, but Id prefer to not have them since Im using the machine for business). Overall, I am very happy with the computer. Its an excellent value for its price point and a relative beast compared to my last laptop. Cheers.

I really liked the hardware and performance for the money. I was trying to buy the same laptop at the big box store. It was $200. more than I paid great laptop good performance.

This computer has no wireless connectivity (in spite of what the description says). This is 100% a do not buy in 2019.

I purchased this laptop for my dad because the keys light up red, to make them easier to see. He says this laptop works great, but it doesn’t have a CD tray to view pictures or listen to his old music CD’s. I thought this was kind of odd... but I guess maybe it’s not standard this day and age. Overall a good computer, no complaints other than no CD tray... he likes it.

Runs perfectly for any game. On simple games like LoL you can run max settings with over 160 fps. I also use it to do video editing and use platforms like unity with no issues. Overall is a great product.

I like the laptop overall, but it crashes and stops working competely until I have to restart it again. This happens around two times a month. I would not recommend this laptop.

Could not ask for a better machine. Boots promptly, which is a plus plus for me. Not a gamer but wanted a computer with some response. I got it.

I have used this laptop regularly for over 6 months, and it has not been the best. A couple months after purchase I would get regular blue screens listing hardware as the source of failure. Dell refused to provide any help without some ridiculously priced repair plan. The laptop gets very hot with any use for gaming over 30 minutes. Also, this computer WILL draw power from the battery while using intensive programs, and eventually run out. Dont bother trying to run even the least demanding of games on only battery power. Civ V on lowest settings barely managed to run at something like 3 FPS. Another fun feature is the loud fan noises. Theyre bothersome, and the built-in microphone will pick them up. A headset is a must for this computer. And to wrap it all up, this laptop is heavy and difficult to transport compared to any other laptop. It is larger than any textbook Ive had so far. If transported in a backpack the keys press against the screen and leave temporary artifacts. Overall, I would NOT recommend this laptop. Build your own tower PC and purchase a Chromebook for the same total price. Youll get better of both worlds. Unless I have some great experience with customer service down the line, Im not buying Dell again.

Great laptop except that the keyboard keys are black with red lettering. When the keyboard black-light is off the keys are almost impossible to read. There seems to be no way to keep the backlight "on" continuously. It turns "off" after about 30 seconds of inactivity.

I had high hopes for this laptop when purchasing it. However, 3 months into use I am starting to have issues with it. Twice now my Intel 9260 driver has failed causing me to lose all WiFi connectivity. Thankfully I saved my old laptop. I needed to dust it off, and download the Intel 9260 driver, as well as the Dell G5 Firmware to a thumb drive, then reinstall both on my brand new laptop. This would be an amazing laptop if it would continue to work. I expected better from a computer I paid $1,100.00 for at the time.
