Apple MacBook Pro 15in Core i7 2.5GHz Retina (MGXC2LL/A), 16GB Memory, 512GB Solid State Drive (Renewed)

You wouldnt think a MacBook Pro could ship without an operating system – or that it would even be possible – but this is precisely what happened with the machine delivered to me. At first, all I got when I turned it on was a black screen with the international symbol for not being able to do something (a circle with a diagonal line inside). A call to Apple helped: press down the power button once and then hold down the command, shift, option and R keys until the next screen appeared. This was a black screen with only 2 choices: choose a network and then a lock icon next to a small text entry field with no explanation as to what it could be for. I entered the network password, and this got me to the next screen: I had to choose to install the only operating system my machine originally came with: 10.11. No other version of OS X was offered to choose from. So the Amazon description of a "Fresh installation of macOS 10.14 Mohave" was wrong, to say the least. After a few hours of installing 10.11, I then had to call Apple to send me the link to download the 10.13.6 operating system I wanted (my contact management program wont run on 10.14). After several hours of this installation, I then had to do a Migration Assistant procedure from my Time Machine backup to this new machine. More hours. And then to make sure my iCloud files were on my machines hard drive as well as in iCloud took a good 24 hours partially due to having to boot in Safe Boot mode while 75,000+ files slowly uploaded. Now the machine is working just fine – it just took 3 days to get to this point. Also: the machine I received is clearly stated in About This Mac as a "Mid 2015" model, unlike 1 review which mentioned 2014 or another which mentioned early 2015. At least the machine arrived without a scratch or ding.

I just received the MacBook and you would absolutely not know it is a refurb... I am very impressed. working perfectly.

I will say that this machine came well packaged and in better than expected shape for a 5 year old computer. The screen, chassis and keyboard are all squeaky clean and the ports are all in great condition. I detract one tenth of a percentage point for the machine coming with High Sierra installed instead of Mojave as advertised. Its downloading and getting ready for install now, so all Im really out is a bit of time, but, like I said, the rest of the machine is in great shape so Im happy as can be.

After reading some reviews I was skeptical, but my 2011 MacBook died and I was desperate for a replacement. The physical condition was flawless; no dings, marks or scratches. Arrived very clean and basic, as they should. The adapter was a little worn (dirty) and didnt include the three prong electrical adapter, but I have several so no big deal. I havent had it long, but I AM HAPPILY DELIGHTED!

I was reluctant to buy refurbished, but its been great. You cannot get any Apple Care with it, but I also have a good local computer shop should I have issues or questions. Its been great - easier to use and lighter. I miss having the CD/DVD tray, but that can be bought aftermarket for a small sum.

I received the wrong charger with this laptop. Also many of the keys stick badly. The computer was not cleaned well before being sent. It was very dusty and there were crumbs in the keyboard and between the metal and the screen. Not impressed at all.

Be wary buying off Amazon, as you wont get any option for AppleCare or any kind of warranty plan. My Macbook appeared fine upon arrival but the battery doesnt hold a charge over an hour at most, and requires the laptop be plugged in at all times (a very counterproductive feature for a laptop to have). The processor is slow and the fans are very clogged, I can get some compressed air to clean it myself but the damage already done by overheating that was there before I owned it cant be reversed. Disappointment is an understatement.

The laptop came in a few days ago and I love it! It is in perfect working condition. I was worried that the battery cycle life was going to be extreme and almost burnt out but it was at a low 157, which means it has a long time to live. It has minor scratches on the bottom, but seriously nothing bad and nothing to worry about. I would buy from them again. Thanks!

Best Computer Model I think. It has everything you need, a great screen, HDMI port USB ports and a sturdy charging cable. Functions better than my fathers brand new MacBook and Pro

I ordered this MacBook as I am a photographer and needed a better functioning computer than my pc to edit photos/ do design work. The function of this MacBook has been great, runs fast, battery life is good, etc. However, when I received the mac there was a lot of cosmetic scratches on the bottom and there are a few dents on the sides by the keyboard where I can tell it has been dropped-- this did not bother me as I always put cases on my computers, however I have received refurbished products in better condition. I also had issues with my charger upon arrival where it was sparking by my Mac port when I plugged it in, not by the outlet-- so I contacted the seller (because after doing some online research I found out that the sparks produced were due to a faulty charger) and the seller sent me out a new charger without hesitation that now works flawlessly. So although there were a few minor issues-- they were easily addressed by the seller and the overall Mac function has been great, exactly what I needed and for that I am giving this product 4 stars.
