first chromebook- great for just surfing- i just dont like not having caps on the keyboard- hard for OFs to see
The screen resolution is not ideal, and the touch pad can be just a little wonky, but over all I love it and use it often. For the price, a great deal.
I got an Acer 13 about two years ago and was looking to replace it with something newer. Unfortunately, Im finding the 15 much less functional in several aspects. - First, the keyboard seems smaller than the 13. The keypads stick more and overall ease of typing is reduced. - Second, the screen quality seems to be worse. Although it boasts better graphics (and may actually have them), print ends up looking more pixelated on this machine. - Finally, the buikier size is not worth the larger screen. The Acer 13 is lighter and more easily fits into an over-the-shoulder bag. Its more useful for client meetings, and feels lighter on the lap as well. Overall, Id go with the Acer 13 over this model if youre considering both - unless youre going to use the system primarily for gaming or video/movie watching--in which case the visual graphics and better speakers might be worth it.
Something in the screen literally burst it and broke the screen so my daughter cant use it after a month of having it.
The Acer Chromebook is fine for browsing or sending email, though somewhat slow. BUT forget printing from this, or apparently any other Chromebook. If you need verification of the problem, check out the postings on support/help sites dealing with printing from the Chromebook
The laptop is not an improvement from my old one. It is heavy, The keyboard is awkward due to placement of the speakers. It is too light to the touch on pop-up items while typing. I find it very frustrating to use and plan to get a replacement. The screen is nice and it has good battery life but it is slower loading than my old Chromebook.
I had an Acer chromebook for a few years which I loved. It was wonderful. I bought a new one and find that the sound is not loud enough to hear even turned to the highest setting. What a disappointment. Also it is slower than my former chromebook.
I use this Chromebook for basic internet surfing. Sadly it is the slowest new computer Ive ever bought, which is super frustrating because I bought it to replace a slow Windows PC. I wish I had returned it within the window to do so. On the positive side, it looks good, has a nice big screen, and starts up quickly.
Bought this at request for my grandson for his graduation. He is extremely involved with gaming and was pumped to say the least when he received it. He was also appreciating everything else it could do for him relevant to his continuing education. It was a Win Win!
This product is phenomenal. It is basic, easy to use and minimum password crazy. My husband has dementia and he can get on his gmail and other sites by himself. That saves me time and energy. I recommend this machine to anyone and everyone.
