I just got the PC today - for some reason, the box itself was not properly sealed and open from one end; however, the PC appeared to be intact and no damage! It didnt boot up right away - the first time I turned it on, it just turned off by itself after running for a few seconds. But I just turned it back on and then it booted up fine, Windows set-up also went fine. No boot or other issues since then after having installed several applications and running through Scan etc. One funny thing as I noticed about this PC is when I turn my surge protector on, it starts automatically without me having to push the power button. In case anyone else has this issue, it has to do with the BIOS setting for "Power Failure" option - Youd need to turn that off. Just FY... So far so good!

If your a high end gamer, you probably spent more on your graphics card than the cost of this whole system. With Windows 10 Professional pre-installed, Intels i7 processor and a Solid State Drive its fast enough to handle your mid-level gaming and more than adequate for your home or business needs.

Games? Good luck! This computer can play BASIC games. Not enough graphic power to run even the LEAST taxing games! Tec support has yet to fix ANYTHING I have asked about (such as a Bing browser that just keeps appearing.) Went through all the steps to remove the browser and the stupid thing is STILL appearing out of no where. Value for your money? THERE IS NONE! If you can get a Apple PC, or even a PC with Windows 7 on it, DO IT! Avoid Windows 10 AT ALL COST! CANT STAND WINDOWS 10!!!! I had a perfectly great working PC I bought in 2009 with Windows 7 home. Windows 7 was BY FAR better than any other windows I had used before. The attention to user ease and personalization on Windows 7 was unmatched! Windows 10 however is a COMPLETE FAIL! From a crazy cluttered task bar, to nothing working as intended! EVERY UPDATE BREAKS SOMETHING ELSE! I have had 3 Windows 10 updates since I bought this piece of junk and each time something was broken as a result of the update! I was just diagnosed with cancer and need to send important information (such as my pathology report) to the cancer center in Pittsburgh PA but can no longer use my scanner due to a update!!! My Magic Jack was the first to get an error and not work. The next update rendered my web cam useless! And the last update just rendered my Bluetooth devices useless on this PC! When I first got this PC it had a few bugs that even with a few hrs in chat with tec support has YET TO BE FIXED! I can no longer upload docs via Bluetooth scanner that was $80.00! Windows 10 "Does not recognize the device any more!" I am fed up with this PC and the trash OS on it. Learned a big lesson in all this. Never buy Microsoft again!

I had high hopes for lthis HP desktop but am very disappointed. You can use the drive that came in it but dont try to add more hard drives or any pcie devices. Its very tricky to add anything to it. Its almost like the configuration is locked and you cant change or add anything. Very disappointed in a HP product which I have always loved.

I spent 3 weeks, went through 3 DP to HDMI adapters by different dealers bought a monitor dock and sent back three desktops to two different dealers trying to solve a connection problem. These desktops are not 2018 models according to my tech guy. They may have been refurbished in 2018 but they are not 2018 models. They were manufactured before Windows 10 was offered as a OS therefore no drivers were ever created for them so you may run into compatibility problems where some every day thing just wont work and you cant figure out why??? Here it is!!!

For reference, this PC is being used in an always-on environment and replaced a PC with similar specs. Im using this PC with Blue Iris software to record surveillance video for 10 720p cameras at 30fps each. Thankfully, this CPU can keep up quite nicely, only utilizing 40-60% CPU even with motion/zone detection and constant streaming to devices. Pros: - Cheaper than building a similar PC thanks to being refurbished - Decently "okay" mouse and keyboard are included - Easy to setup and use - Plenty powerful enough for most peoples needs Cons: - The case itself isnt really designed to stand upright - The refurbisher forgot to clear the BIOS / CMOS settings and I was presented with a "PROPERTY OF NEW YORK ATTORNEY GENERAL" identifier on first startup. At least now I know where the refurbisher got it from! - Windows had already been installed and setup, which can be a security risk. I recommend reinstalling Windows 10 (you can get an ISO from Microsoft) and using the Windows key already on the case to activate it.

This is super speedy. Like other commenters, they forgot to put the WiFi adapter in the box, but I had it 3 days after I contacted them. My only issue is that I didnt realize how tiny the HD is. Its my own fault for not reading the description very well. I was unable to transfer half the docs from my previous PC and am now having to keep some on an external drive. Oh Well. I still recommend it.

The certified refurbished computer I bought from TekRefurbs has problems. When the PC was under heavy load, its fan sounded very noisy and its CPU went hot( 100C) quickly . It even triggered CPU thermal throttling. I opened the case and found some rust has already showed up on the surface of the CPU heatsink and some screws ( check the pictures). I dont think this PC meets with Amazon requirement for certified refurbished computer. (look and work like new). Asked for return in the second day. My suggestion: if you dont know inspect and test used PC, dont buy them, even they are "Certified Refurbished".

After reading both the positive and negative reviews I decided to go with this machine. I wanted something with an Intel core i7 processor and this fit what I wanted. I also ordered a an additional 16 gigs of memory (https://smile.amazon.com/dp/B0064DQR9U/ref=cfb_at_prodpg), along with a low profile graphics card (https://smile.amazon.com/gp/product/B01DOFD0G8/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o07_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1). The machine came with 8 gigs of memory, two 4 gig modules in the primary buss slots. I replaced these with the 8 gig modules and installed the 4 gig modules in the secondary slots for a total of 24Gbs of memory. The primary slots are black and the secondary are white. Installation was easier when the drive holder is raised and out of the way. The memory inserts only one way so you cant go wrong, slide the modules into the clip slots and press down until you hear them click into place. The graphics card came with small mounting adapters, removed the full sized one and installed the smaller one. The install went ok, a bit tight but enough wiggle room to get it inserted. Only hassle was removing the top, it fits tight and you have to lift and slide back, other than that everything got installed with really no problems. Plugged in the monitor and blue-tooth dongle for keyboard/mouse, removed the wireless dongle (my router is 2 ft away) and turned everything on. Got a message saying the machine needed to be repaired, did a reboot and got the same message. I shut it down, unplugged it and waited until I finished a cup of coffee. Plugged it back in, turned it on, and the first message I got was it recognized the memory upgrade, next it recognized the monitor, then windows was booted. Entered the serial number from the sticker and everything was fine. Internally there is an empty bay for a 3.5" hard drive, three PCI slots, and four memory slots, along with the ssd drive and cd/dvd drive. The back has USB3 and USB2 ports, speaker in/out jacks and stuff I dont need. My monitor is plugged into the hdmi port on the graphic card (better than the on-board intel graphic driver) and the bluetooth worked immediately for my keyboard and mouse. From a cold boot the unit is ready to log on in less than 15 seconds, my old machine seemed to take about a minute if not a day. My internet browser loads and is ready in about a second. The ssd drive really makes a difference in program loading and running time, a big difference. Right now I have two dual hard drive docking units (total four external drives), one brother label printer, and a card reader, all plugged into the USB3 ports. Everything was recognized immediately, with no impact on performance. The reason for the added graphics card was due to the recommendation of a retired Intel nerd, he also recommended at least 16 gigs of memory due to the way Windows Pro works. All in all, Im very happy with this machine, its fast and does everything I need it to do, and no doubt, more. I highly recommend this machine from this vendor. Oh, Im saving the internal drive bay for a 3TB hard drive for my backups, that should be enough storage for a couple of months or so.
