Not too big, good quality photos, lots of zoom range, and the convenience of wireless photo uploads makes this the perfect gift for the person who loves to have a camera on hand nearly all the time but wants better quality photos than an iPhone.
This is the third Lumix model we have owned. We upgrade because of the view finder and better optics

I love the camera, and it can work as a point and shoot, but it can do much more than that. It will take a while to learn all of the features, but the point and shoot feature is easy to use for novices like me.
Like camera just need to get use to it .
My husband is a photographer and needed a camera to take to an event that would not allow cameras with detachable lenses. He LOVED this camera! It is amazing how clear the images were, and how easy it was to use.

UPDATE been trying to use this camera for a couple months and have yet to figure out how to take a single picture that is not grainy, out of focus or dimly lit. this camera’s processor sucks and the optical zoom is crap too. worst purchase i ever made on amazon. lots and lots of features. it’s easy to fall down a settings hole and not be able to climb back out. the little case, tripod and LED light that came with it are crap but the SD card and the extra rechargeable battery and charger are nice though. the gumby-tripod in particular is a real POS. it’s also pretty sweet that you can use a phone app to control the camera remotely. cool feature they should talk up. i ended up getting a carry case and not-so-half-assed tripod so my total cost was more than i would’ve liked to spend.
