This lens is a must if you own a Sony FS100 or 700! Sharp as a tack. When I ride my camera on a big jib arm, I get the auto focus (with face detection if you want it) and auto exposure. No radio control focus / exposure control rings and rigs. And then when you go hand held, the image stabilizer is just the best. Ive got a slew of Zeiss and Nikon lenses. I cant remember the last time I had them on my FS700. The Sony E mount lenses are just fantastic - light weight and sharp with lots of useful built in functionality that ups the percentage of the usable footage I turn over to the editor.

I waited for over a year to buy this little marvel...read reviews, tried other lenses, but in the end the wide zoom worked so well I keep it on my NEX 7 most of the time. With DxO and or Sony distortion compensation, wide pictures come out great! ...even up close!

Seems like a really nice lens. Only had it for a little while so I can’t speak for it’s longevity but it seems like it’s high quality + pictures and videos look great out of it. The only reason I gave it a 1 star is to warn anyone buying it that it may come used. I bought mine new but when I opened the box it was flopping around in there with no packaging and the box looked opened already. If you’re going to buy this lens then buy it used or buy it somewhere else or you risk paying for new and getting used.
