Canon EF-S 55-250mm f/4-5.6 IS STM Telephoto Zoom Lens International Version (No Warranty)

Have only taken a few test shots, and this thing is silent! It took a couple shots to realize it was focusing in auto without making a sound! The new STM is insane coming from its predecessor. Even the IS seems to be better improved! Image quality looks good, but I’ll update this after I get to really test it. Seller was fast and packaged well. No sad at all I didn’t opt for the warranty version as it would cost more to repair then replace.

No more crouching, bending over or squeezing through crowds of people just to shove camera close to the subject. I can now take excellent close-ups from a distance. I use it with a Canon M3 + adapter, and the combined size still fits nicely in my 13-inch messenger bag without feeling heavy.

From what I can tell this lens is very well built despite being constructed of plastic. I havent had too much of a chance to shoot with it yet, but once I do tmrw morning, I might be able to update this review with some shots and hopefully some really positive feedback on the performance of the lens. Ive read and watched many great reviews of this lens and Im certain that it will deliver the results everyone praises it for. Just uploaded a picture taken today with the lens! The quality and clarity is absolutely amazing especially for the price!

Im very pleased with this lens. Despite low (really low) price, the picture quality is very high - sharpness, distortions, boke, vignetting are comparable to way more expensive lenses. The only aspect I would really like to be improved is performance of autofocus - at least on Canon M100 it is slow.

I am really enjoying this lens. The Image stabilization is great, and the auto focus blows me away with how quiet and fast it is. The pictures are sharp and have good color separation. I am fairly new to DSLR cameras and dont have any experience with top end lenses, but for the price I dont think you can do better. Below is a picture shot with this lens for my Photography class.

This is a great lenses. I was concerned that the low aperture may not offer a great quality, however despite being a f4.0, the aperture looks much lower. The build looked great, manual and auto focus work wonderful, and the zoom is great. Another concern was that the brightness and quality may degrade when using the lens at the full zoom, but by surprise, the quality and brightness remained decent.

So much better than my kit 75-300, and noticeably quieter than my 35-105 ultrasonic lens. This is my first STM lens and it will not be my last, fully planning on upgrading all of my lenses to STM, hopefully though deals like this one. I cannot use any of my other lenses for video without ripping the entire audio that was recorded out, the autofocus alone makes that much noise, whereas this lens I really cannot notice the lens sounds at all.

The product was in a box and at the first look, it seems new. But unfortunately, I found some dust within the lens. I suppose this is one that didnt have any buyer because of the above-mentioned problem. I am very disappointed and I am highly recommending to buy only from Canon (or from shops which are recommended by them).

Lets face it, its not an L-series lens, BUT its super quiet and the image is quality is pretty good. The image stabilization is pretty good too. For the range (80 to 400mm) it really light and compact. I personally have the 70-200 f2.8 L IS and its heavy and 3 times the size, so to have this lens is a nice alternative if I want to PACK LIGHT.
